Description:
Safety Defender (safetydefender.com) hijacking is the result of the the infamous ZLOB trojan. The ZLOB trojan infects computers and hijacks them to one of many rogue security websites including safetydefender.com, in hopes of scaring users into buying fake anti-spyware products such as PestTrap, MalwareWipe and SpyGuard. The rogue spyware remover will run a free scan and falsly identify infections to scare the user into buying the full version of the rogue remover. Zlob is an advertising trojan that collects commission on sales it generates using this dubious method.
